Our Infrastructure
Our infrastructure is backed by one of the world’s largest infrastructure and communications providers – and our infrastructure is based entirely within Australia.
No other Australian-based provider has the level of redundancy and replication available to their systems, nor do they have the feature-set.
That is why we are trusted by some of the nation’s leading investment firms, such as the Australian Foundation Investment Company, to deliver their entire infrastructure from our data centres.
Our data centre Footprint

Our hosted services are available from 7 data centres across Australia.
Private Cloud vs. Public Cloud
You’ve no doubt seen advertising about the Cloud (Microsoft and Telstra are pushing hard) – and you’re using the Cloud when you access your Hotmail or gmail accounts. But there are different types of clouds – broadly speaking, there are private clouds and public clouds.
The distinction is primarily based on whether the IT resources are shared among many organizations (Public Cloud) or dedicated to a single organization (Private Cloud).
Public Cloud
Very simply, Public Cloud (or External Cloud) is where resources are shared over the Internet and used/provisioned as per need, dynamically. This typically comprises applications and services on the web, available on pay-per-use models.
Private Cloud
Private Cloud (or Internal/Corporate Cloud), on the other hand refers to offerings that emulate Cloud computing on dedicated networks.
The idea is to harness the benefits of Cloud computing with higher data security and reliability. In this model Rock IT can offer a proprietary computing network, which offers hosted services customised to individual organisations.
Which is right for your business?
Whilst Public Clouds have the attraction of very low prices, you forfeit far too many benefits to make it a satisfactory business solution.
